Envy

Envy according to the aspect of its object is contrary to charity,
whence the soul derives its spiritual life…
Charity rejoices in our neighbor's good,
while envy grieves over it.

"I love this quote...it is very much me (envy is a problem) so, something I have to be mindful of and work on, or, it gets in my way big time!!!! Practicing the opposite: Charity, admiration, is amazing for me when I can remember to behave that way.

Oh, my Sun Totem, is the Goose. I don't know if I like that one. Being selfish, self-centered is a big attribute, but, you know, it is also factual, so, makes me take stock and do some work on it...

I am coming to think that being "neglected" in childhood, makes people more self-conscious and in a bit of a frenzy about not learning the basic skills one learns from parents...

I think that makes one (like me) more self (ish) and prone to using inappropriate coping skills, I am trying to be less self-neglecting, aquire some of those skill I so obviously missed out on...

I think that leads to being more self aware, and hopefully then, less selfish."
